The Executive Governor of Abia State Dr. Alex Otti , OFR has fulfilled his promise by ensuring that December 2024 salaries were paid to civil servants ahead of Christmas.
During the December edition of his Monthly Media Chat, the governor had assured workers of receiving their salaries by December 20, 2024, to help them prepare for the festive season.
Reports indicate that most Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the state received their salaries as of this evening, with a few parastatals set to receive theirs by Monday, December 23, due to bank processing delays.
Additionally, the governor has pledged to pay the 13th-month salary before December 30, 2024, further solidifying his commitment to improving the welfare of civil servants in the state.
