Omoyele Sowore, an activist turned politician, entered a not guilty plea to the cybercrime allegations against him before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Sowore was charged by Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector General of Police, for referring to him as a “illegal IGP.”
The comment had been posted by Sowore on his verified X handle.
However, the activist was detained at around 10:00 am when the charges were given to him, and he is currently on trial before Justice Liman of the FCT High Court.
Sowore entered a not guilty plea to all of the accusations when they were read.
Meanwhile, a number of his supporters had demonstrated against Sowore’s arraignment in front of the court.
