Abayomi Arabambi, the National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party (LP), thinks Kenneth Okonkwo’s departure was a good thing for the party, which intends to overthrow the current government in 2027.

In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Arabambi made this claim and said that the party is still steadfast.

His remarks followed Okonkwo’s resignation letter on Tuesday, in which the former party spokesperson stated that one of the main reasons he chose to pursue his political career elsewhere was the party’s nonexistence.

”And we wish Mr Kenneth Okonkwo well, his resignation is good riddance to bad rubbish. He should not speak about the Labour Party anymore

”There is no leadership crisis in the Labour Party. Labour Party is not going into extinction. It is just a figment of the imaginations of most of our detractors,” Arabambi said.

He claims that because the former Nollywood actor was never faithful to the Labour Party, he has been conspiring with the ruling party.

The APC guy, Kenneth Okonkwo, has already collaborated with President Tinubu; in the 2023 elections, he worked against Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. We’ll see him in 2027, and we wish him well,” he continued.

In addition to stating that proactive measures were being taken to weed out those with allegiances elsewhere, the LP Publicity Secretary reaffirmed that the party will not accept political rascality of any kind.
