Members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ukwa East Local Government Area have passed a vote of confidence on the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the PDP, Senator Adolphus Wabara. They also urged Nigerians to disregard his purported suspension by what they described as ‘an impostor’, Mr. Abraham Amah.
During a well-attended meeting that brought together men and women of the PDP, as well as concerned citizens across the LGA, party leaders discussed recent developments surrounding the alleged suspension of Senator Wabara by the Abraham Amah-led executive. They reaffirmed that, at no time, did the legitimate leadership of the party consider suspending their leader.
Chairman of Ikwueke East Ward, Mr. Chisom Nwoko, who opened the meeting, acknowledged concerns arising from media reports and statements about Senator Wabara’s suspension. He clarified that the action by the Abraham Amah-led executive was based on a misunderstanding and lacked any formal or legitimate justification.
Party members strongly opposed the suspension, emphasizing that it was unauthorized and did not reflect the will of the majority in Ukwa East LGA. They further stated that the Abraham Amah-led PDP leadership remains invalid following a court order that previously halted the congress that produced them.
Several Ukwa East PDP members reaffirmed their unwavering support for Senator Adolphus Wabara, commending his dedication, leadership, and continuous contributions to the party’s growth at both the state and national levels. They stressed that his leadership remains crucial to the PDP’s success.
At the conclusion of the meeting, party members unanimously passed a vote of confidence on Senator Wabara and declared Abraham Amah an impostor.
