Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, a senator from the Kogi Central Senatorial District, grounded the plenary Thursday due to her seat being altered without her permission.

According to reports, the Chief Whip, Senator Mohammed Ali Monguno, raised a point of order halfway through the plenary, which was being presided over by Senate President Godswill Obot Akpabio.

The Senate President was alerted by Monguno to “Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s improper seating position of the lawmaker.”

Monguno had barely finished a point of order when Natasha started yelling at him before the Sergeant-AtArms surrounded her and tried to excuse her from the plenary.

The female senator demanded to know the “reasons why her seat was changed without her consent,” bluffing the Senate President’s attempt to calm emotions amid the chaos.

After the public address systems were turned off, the mayhem was contained, and then things returned to normal.
