The Governor of Rivers State has officially invited members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to a crucial meeting to address key legislative and governance issues.
In a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief Dr. Tammy Wenike Danagogo, and addressed to the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martins Amaewhule, the governor extended the invitation following the receipt of the Supreme Court judgment related to the ongoing political situation in the state.
The meeting, scheduled for Monday, March 10, 2025, at 10 AM at the Government House in Port Harcourt, aims to discuss several critical issues, including:
- Provision of a befitting space for Assembly sittings
- Payment of outstanding remunerations and allowances of Assembly members
- Presentation of the 2025 budget and other related matters
- Any other issues deemed necessary for the progress of the state
The invitation follows the governor’s previous communication on March 5, 2025, in which he assured the lawmakers of his willingness to engage with them constructively.
The meeting is expected to provide a platform for open dialogue and resolution of legislative concerns in the best interest of the people of Rivers State.
