Mr. John Nwosu, a Labour Party candidate for the Anambra State 2025 governorship election, has refuted reports that he resigned to make room for Mr. George Moghalu, another party candidate.
There is no reality to the rumor, according to a press release provided to journalists in Awka by Ben Chuks Nwosu, the Director General of the John Nwosu Campaign organization.
The statement said, in part: “The attention of the John Chuma Nwosu Campaign Organisation has been drawn to the scurrilous rumour making the rounds that John C. Nwosu, the leading Labour Aspirant for the 2025 Governorship has stepped down for Chief George Moghalu, another LP aspirant. This is a lie of enormous proportion.

“John Chuma Nwosu is set for the 5 April, 2025 party primaries. The Labour Party delegates will decide who will be the party’s candidate. Party nomination cannot be won through lies, subterfuge and mischievous fake news.”
He claimed that the matter of stepping down never came up and that the candidate, Mr. John Nwosu, had just returned his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms, which he had bought and completed the day before at the Labour Party National Secretariat in Abuja.
He urged party supporters to ignore such distracting false information while maintaining that his principal is still very much in the race.
