Says Abians Now Boast of Identity With Pride Unlike Before

A notable politician in Abia State, Dr. Chima Desmond Anyaso has said that few individuals who are against the Governor Alex Otti’s administration are doing so because looting which is the major means livelihood has been eradicated with the election of Governor Otti.

Addressing newsmen in his Igbere country home in Bende Local Government Area of the state, Anyaso also expressed optimism that Otti will be reelected for a second tenure.

“Governor Alex Otti will be reelected to complete his second term, owing to his sterling performance. Those who have the opportunity to be Abia State governor without making a very meaningful impact were elected to complete their tenure, let alone a governor that is doing excellently well”.

He maintained that Gov. Otti’s administration is performing optimally and Abians and mostly business men who were formerly mocked for being Abians are now bold and sing their identity as Abians with pride.

Anyaso went down the memory lane to recall how he left the PDP in 2022 where he was gunning for the party’s Guber ticket as a result of what he described as Kangaroo party primaries and how he joined forces with Engr. Enyinnya Nwafor in the Young Progressive Party who has a similar vision and genuine mission for Abia, and how they also agreed not to engage in verbal war with any candidate that has similar vision, expressed satisfaction that for the first time, Abians voted the candidate of their choice.

Anyaso, who insisted that he is still a card carrying member of the YPP, said politics should be an avenue of giving back to the society and also should be seen as a call to service and not a vent to enrich oneself as most people have converted it.

He expressed joy that Gov. Otti is performing well both in human capacity development and infrastructure development, pointed out that the governor is not in the business of sharing Abia resources unlike the previous administration.

He enjoined politicians at the national level to tenaciously embrace and practice real democracy which embodies freedom of association, speech and where other political parties should be allowed to exist without being suppressed as Nigeria is not a one party state but operates a multiparty system.

The Vanguard award winner and business mogul, who believed the concept of ‘Akuroulo’, cited the nursery/primary school and Ofuji Resort which he built in his community among other investments and which is also complementing the state government’s effort in the tourism/hospitality and education sector.

He seized the opportunity to wish Governor Alex Otti a wonderful Easter celebration filled with possibilities and positivity and also prayed that Abians will be enveloped with Easter blessings.

National Ambassador.
