Mail Sport claims that three phones will no longer be able to use WhatsApp in the coming days.
More than two billion people use the app worldwide, making it one of the most widely used messaging apps.
However, the program will stop allowing users to send and receive messages on May 5 if they are still using three Apple devices.
Devices running iOS 15.1 or later will be the only ones supported after this date.
The iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus are the smartphones that are impacted.
“Every year we look at which devices and software are the oldest and have the fewest users.
“These devices also might not have the latest security updates, or might lack the functionality required to run WhatsApp,” a WhatsApp spokesperson said.
The most recent of the impacted phones, the iPhone 6 Plus, was released in 2014, while the oldest, the iPhone 5s, was issued more than ten years ago in 2013.
In 2016, Apple formally deemed all of these iPhone models outdated and discontinued them.
