PUO Reports — A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ayekooto Akindele, has described former Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, as an “epitome of failure,” asserting that his supporters are fully aware of his shortcomings.

Akindele made the statement while reacting to ongoing tensions within the Labour Party, particularly the recent verbal exchange between the party’s National Chairman, Julius Abure, and key figures such as Obi and Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti.

In a recent video that has sparked widespread political commentary, Abure challenged both Obi and Otti to present evidence of any financial contributions made to the party or its leadership during the 2023 general elections.

“If they provoke me further, I will reveal everything. When I open my mouth, they will stink like rotten eggs no one wants to touch,” Abure had warned.

Responding to the development, Ayekooto, in a post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, downplayed the significance of Abure’s threats, suggesting they would have no impact on Obi’s public perception.

“There is nothing you can say that will make Obi become smelly eggs,” Ayekooto wrote.

He further claimed that supporters of the former Anambra State Governor already understand who Obi is, and yet continue to promote him regardless.

“All those supporting him already knew him so well before hyping him,” Ayekooto added.

The internal crisis within the Labour Party has drawn national attention, especially following the fallout from the 2023 general elections, which saw Peter Obi emerge as one of the leading opposition candidates and Alex Otti become the party’s sole governor.

The APC chieftain’s remarks underscore the growing political friction among major players in the opposition landscape, as realignments continue ahead of the next electoral cycle.

PUO Reports will continue to monitor developments as the situation unfolds.
