The Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti, on Saturday, joined family, friends, and well-wishers in Lagos to celebrate the 95th birthday of elder statesman and national icon, Dr. Uma Eleazu.
Dr. Eleazu, a respected scholar, public intellectual, and former gubernatorial aspirant in Abia State, was honored in a private but dignified ceremony attended by notable Nigerians across various sectors.
Speaking at the event, Governor Otti expressed deep admiration for the legacy and wisdom of Dr. Eleazu. He described the nonagenarian as “a symbol of integrity, patriotism, and visionary leadership whose life continues to inspire generations.”
Governor Otti offered prayers for continued strength and health for Dr. Eleazu, stating:
“At 95, Dr. Uma Eleazu remains mentally sharp, physically strong, and morally grounded. We thank God for his life and pray that He grants him many more years in good health and peace. His contributions to nation-building are timeless.”
