Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the Labour Party, LP, dismissing any speculation about his involvement in political coalitions or plans to decamp.

Speaking during an interactive session with members of the Abia State Global Economic Council in Umuahia, the governor made it clear that he has not participated in any coalition meetings, nor has he been invited to any such engagements.

“I am not in any coalition and have not attended any meetings organised by the group or been invited for any,” Otti stated.

He emphasized that his focus remains on fulfilling the mandate given to him by the people of Abia State.

“I am rather busy doing the work the Abia people gave me. I am not looking for where to decamp to,” the governor said.

Addressing rumours of a crisis within the Labour Party, Otti acknowledged internal challenges but highlighted the party’s resilience in overcoming them.

“The LP had a problem and fought through the Supreme Court to retrieve the party,” he noted.

Governor Otti’s remarks come amid growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, reinforcing his position as a committed member of the Labour Party and a focused leader dedicated to governance in Abia State.
