Former Minister of Police Affairs, Adamu Waziri, has declared that he would not hesitate to unseat the Bola Tinubu-led administration immediately if any democratic avenue were currently available to do so.

Speaking on a Channels Television programme, Waziri stated unequivocally that while he opposes the current government, his commitment remains to constitutional and democratic processes.

“If I have the democratic means to remove this government tomorrow, I would remove this government,” Waziri said.

He added, “But I don’t have the democratic means so I have to wait for two years to do so. We are not toppling this government as Onanuga said. We are going to democratically remove this government.”

Waziri was reacting to allegations made by presidential aide Bayo Onanuga, who had suggested that opposition leaders were plotting to overthrow the government. The former minister dismissed those claims, calling them “cheap blackmail.”

“It is cheap blackmail to say that people are planning to oust the government. We are challenging this government on democratic means,” he insisted.
