No fewer than five serving Presidents from various countries are expected to attend the funeral of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari.
The development was disclosed by Buhari’s former media aide, Bashir Ahmad, in a post shared on his official Facebook page on Monday.
“So far, five presidents are expected to attend the Janaiza of former President Muhammadu Buhari,” Ahmad stated.
The remains of the late President, who passed away in London on Sunday following a prolonged illness, are expected to arrive in Nigeria by 12pm on Tuesday.
According to the Katsina State Government, burial arrangements have been concluded, and the body will be laid to rest by 2pm in his hometown of Daura.
World leaders, particularly from Africa, have continued to send condolences and tributes in honour of the former Nigerian leader.
Vice President Kashim Shettima and other senior government officials are currently in London and are expected to accompany the remains back to Nigeria for the final rites.
