Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the resignation of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), offering a pointed social media remark following the high-profile exit.
On July 16, 2025, Atiku formally tendered his resignation from the PDP in a letter addressed to the party chairman of his ward, Jada 1, in Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Atiku cited a departure from the founding ideals of the party and irreconcilable internal differences as reasons for his decision to leave the platform on which he had previously contested for the presidency.
In a subtle jab shared via his official X account, Shehu Sani wrote, “Waziri; When the Admin left the group,” drawing a parallel between Atiku’s role in the PDP and that of a group administrator in social media circles.
Atiku’s departure has intensified political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections. He is currently a prominent figure within the African Democratic Congress (ADC)-led opposition coalition.
There are strong indications that the former Vice President is preparing to contest for the coalition’s presidential ticket as efforts intensify to mount a unified challenge to the ruling party in the next election cycle.
