Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has described his recent defection to the All Progressives Congress, APC, as a well-considered and strategic decision made in the best interest of the state.

Speaking to journalists shortly after revalidating his APC membership at his ward in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, the governor reaffirmed his commitment to the new party.

“I am fully satisfied with the choice I have made,” Governor Eno stated.

The governor also flagged off a month-long APC membership registration and revalidation exercise across all wards in Akwa Ibom on August 4.

He explained that the initiative is intended to authenticate the party’s membership base and prevent impersonation within its ranks.

According to him, the ongoing exercise is a crucial step in streamlining the APC’s internal structure and strengthening grassroots mobilisation efforts.

Welcoming new entrants into the party, Governor Eno urged members to stay focused and ignore detractors.

He also called on party faithful to give their full support to the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that unity and collective effort are essential to advancing the APC’s goals at both state and national levels.
