Buba Galadima, a chieftain of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), has argued that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) cannot deliver a free and fair election under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Galadima accused the government of abandoning governance for politicking only two years into its tenure.
He said INEC lacks the “muscle and guts” to caution politicians who have already begun heating up the polity, alleging that those in government themselves initiated early politicking.
Galadima questioned how an electoral body that cannot stop politicians from “jumping the gun” would be able to muster the courage to conduct credible elections.
He added that for now, he and his allies are keeping quiet but will make their presence known at the right time.
