FG, states, and LGs share N2.001trn July revenue

The federal, state, and local governments have shared N2.001 trillion from the Federation Account as revenue for July 2025. The allocation was made at the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting held in Abuja.

The distributable revenue comprised N1.283 trillion statutory revenue, N640.610 billion Value Added Tax (VAT), N37.601 billion from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), and N39.745 billion as exchange difference.

According to the communiqué issued after the meeting, total gross revenue for July stood at N3.836 trillion, from which N152.681 billion was deducted as collection costs and N1.683 trillion set aside for transfers, interventions, refunds, and savings.

Gross statutory revenue for July was N3.070 trillion, lower by N415.108 billion compared to the N3.485 trillion received in June. VAT collections, however, rose slightly to N687.940 billion from N678.165 billion in June.

From the total distributable sum, the federal government received N735.081 billion, states received N660.349 billion, and local governments got N485.039 billion. Benefiting oil-producing states received N120.359 billion as 13% derivation revenue.

Breakdown of allocations showed that from statutory revenue alone, the federal government received N613.805 billion, states N311.330 billion, and local governments N240.023 billion, while N117.714 billion was shared as derivation.

From VAT, the federal government received N96.092 billion, states N320.305 billion, and local governments N224.214 billion. On EMTL, N5.640 billion went to the federal government, N18.801 billion to states, and N13.160 billion to local councils. From the exchange difference, N19.544 billion went to the federal government, N9.913 billion to states, and N7.643 billion to local governments, with N2.643 billion shared as derivation.

The communiqué noted that Petroleum Profit Tax, oil and gas royalties, EMTL, and excise duty recorded significant increases in July, while VAT and import duty rose marginally. Companies Income Tax and CET levies, however, declined.
