Supporters of former President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday staged a rally in Abuja, calling for his return to active politics.

The demonstrators, carrying placards with inscriptions such as “Goodluck come back and save Nigeria,” marched to the national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), where the party’s National Executive Committee was holding a meeting.

The march is the latest in a series of calls from Nigerians who believe Jonathan is best positioned to address the country’s current challenges. Within the PDP, some stakeholders are also reportedly urging him to contest the 2027 presidential election under the party’s platform.

Jonathan, however, has yet to comment publicly on the mounting pressure for his comeback.
