Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has taken a swipe at President Bola Tinubu following comments he made during a recent engagement with investors in Brazil.

President Tinubu, while addressing Brazilian business leaders on Monday, assured them that Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms are yielding positive results. He further claimed that corruption had been eliminated since he assumed office in 2023.

“It’s getting clearer to the people. We have more money for the economy, and no more corruption,” Tinubu told the gathering.

The statement has since sparked widespread criticism among Nigerians, many of whom questioned the accuracy of the president’s claim.

Reacting via his official Facebook page on Tuesday, Sowore shared a video clip of the event, accusing the president of misleading the international community.

“This criminal actually went to Brazil to state that there is NO MORE corruption under his regime in Nigeria. What audacity to lie shamelessly,” Sowore wrote.
