The Federal Government has announced an upward review of Nigerian passport application fees, with the new rates set to take effect from September 1, 2025.

The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), A.S. Akinlabi.

According to the NIS, the review is aimed at enhancing the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport, which will officially be rolled out in September.

Under the revised fee structure, a 32-page passport with five-year validity will cost N100,000, while a 64-page passport with ten-year validity will cost N200,000.

Akinlabi clarified that the new rates apply only to passport applications made within Nigeria. Application fees for Nigerians in the diaspora remain unchanged at $150 for a 32-page passport (five years) and $230 for a 64-page passport (ten years).

The statement emphasized that the Service remains committed to delivering quality service while ensuring accessibility for Nigerians at home and abroad.
