Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdullahi Ibrahim, has faulted Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, accusing him of embarrassing the party with what he described as undue interference.

Speaking during an interview with Arise News on Wednesday, Ibrahim criticised Wike’s decision to issue six conditions ahead of the PDP’s forthcoming national convention, describing the move as outrageous given his current role in an All Progressives Congress (APC) government.

“Why are you coming up with six conditions? You are giving PDP conditions, and the entire country is laughing at us all because of one individual who is on the APC’s payroll. Enough is enough. We have to draw the line; he cannot continue like this,” Ibrahim said.

He explained that while he had previously supported Wike, particularly during the internal debates over zoning before the 2023 elections, the minister’s conduct had gone beyond legitimate concerns.

“I have spoken up for him more than anyone else in this party, justifying his stand against the zoning formula in 2023. I have supported him in many battles. But there comes a time when a responsible person must stop,” Ibrahim added.

The PDP spokesman stressed that the party must safeguard its unity and credibility by rejecting any further attempts at blackmail or distraction.
