Chief Dan Ulasi, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said that only divine will can determine whether the party will secure the presidency in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Friday, Ulasi explained that although the PDP is making concerted efforts to reorganize ahead of the polls, its eventual success rests in God’s hands.
“Well, I’ll answer that question by saying that only God can determine whether the PDP will make the presidency in 2027. Only God knows who will be alive tomorrow morning. We can only have hopes and desires if God wills,” Ulasi said.
He pointed to the recent National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party, where at least seven governors were present, describing it as a refreshing sign of renewed unity and commitment to rebuilding the PDP.
Ulasi further noted that the party has zoned its presidential ticket to the South and argued that fairness demands it be micro-zoned to the South East, which has yet to produce a president in the current democratic dispensation.
“If there is honesty, then the South East should naturally have its turn,” he added.
