Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Chief Dan Ulasi, has stated that former Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, currently has no defined political platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Friday, Ulasi acknowledged that while the Nigerian Constitution guarantees Obi’s right to contest, his political future remains uncertain due to a lack of alignment with any party.

Ulasi recalled that Obi contested the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party and was recently seen at an African Democratic Congress (ADC) event, but has yet to clarify his base for 2027.

“In terms of the presidency for 2027, I believe Peter Obi so far has no platform. To the best of my knowledge, he ran last time with the Labour Party. He’s attended the luncheon of ADC. So I don’t know what his platform will be,” Ulasi said.

The PDP stalwart, however, expressed optimism that Obi could make a significant impact if he rejoined the PDP, arguing that his credibility and nationwide support would strengthen the party’s chances.

“I’ll be happy if he joins PDP, because he will bring his credibility to bear on the party as we are reorganizing. Any party that has him today already has more than 30 to 40 percent of the election because he has tremendous support across this country,” Ulasi added.
