Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has renewed his criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, describing it as a full-blown dictatorship and the gravest threat to Nigeria’s democracy since the country’s return to civil rule.
In a statement shared on his verified X handle on Sunday, Atiku condemned what he called the administration’s growing authoritarianism. He made the remarks during a solidarity visit to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, who was recently attacked by suspected APC-sponsored thugs at the inauguration of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna.
“This evening, I paid a solidarity visit to former Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, over his attack by APC-sponsored thugs at the recent inauguration of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State.
“I reiterated that the activities of the Tinubu-led APC administration pose the greatest risk to our democracy since the return of democratic governance. It is concerning that this administration has turned into a full-blown dictatorship,” Atiku said.
