The Commissioner of Police in Abia State, CP Danladi Isa, has cautioned officers under his command against posting the faces of crime suspects on social media or getting involved in civil matters.
He also warned against unprofessional conduct, extortion, improper dressing while on duty, unlawful detention of suspects in non-felonious cases, and poor documentation of complaints and reports.
Speaking during a strategic meeting with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Team Commanders and Departmental Heads, the CP frowned at unauthorized transfers of officers on one-year attachment, as well as misconduct and impunity.
Isa stressed that there must be no loss of personnel or arms, adding that preliminary investigations into community-reported cases must be properly handled before transferring them to the State Criminal Investigation Department for prosecution.
He urged officers to lead by example, embrace professionalism, prepare for retirement early and stay healthy. He further reiterated that enforcement of tinted glass permits commenced on October 2, 2025, warning that motorists must not be extorted or exploited.
The meeting was in line with the recent directive of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
