Nigerian singer Michael Olayinka, popularly known as Ruger, has expressed deep concern over the rising cases of kidnapping across the country.
The Asiwaju crooner said he fears for the safety of Nigerians, particularly those planning to travel within or return to the country during the upcoming festive season.
Ruger noted that kidnapping has become a full-time criminal enterprise in some parts of Nigeria and warned that the situation could worsen in December if urgent measures are not taken.
In a post on his X handle on Wednesday, the artist wrote, “I’m scared for people this December. Kidnapping has become a full-time business in some parts of Nigeria and it’s only going to get worse this festive season. People will travel back to their villages from abroad and from many other places in Nigeria. These bastards will strike hard.”
