Former National Officer of the Labour Party, Kenneth Okonkwo, has alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is employing intimidation tactics to destabilize opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Monday, Okonkwo said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been repeatedly targeted while holding meetings across various states.
“ADC is on fire. The only thing is that we have an APC that is using every method to intimidate and scatter the plans of the opposition,” he said.
The actor-turned-politician cited incidents in Kaduna, Lagos, and Ekiti States where ADC meetings were allegedly disrupted by thugs operating under the supervision of security personnel.
He accused the APC of manipulating security institutions to suppress opposition activities, contrary to the provisions of the Electoral Act which mandate equal protection for all political parties.
Okonkwo expressed optimism about the ADC’s prospects in 2027, declaring that the party is prepared to take over power.
“ADC is going to form the next government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We are strategizing, and we are going to beat this APC. They are already imploding because all these endorsements are just an amalgamation of sycophants,” he said.
