The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has appointed former Minister of Finance, Senator Nenadi Usman, as Coalition Chairman to oversee party activities and spearhead reconciliation efforts in Kaduna State.
The appointment is part of the party’s broader strategy to resolve the internal crisis affecting its Kaduna chapter and strengthen its organisational structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
DAILY POST reports that Usman, who also serves as the National Chairman of the Peter Obi faction of the Labour Party, was appointed to replace Julius Abure, who was recently embattled over leadership disputes.
Announcing the appointment during a press conference in Kaduna, the ADC National Vice Chairman (North-West), Ja’afaru Sani, said the party is focused on fostering unity among opposition figures and warned against political interference aimed at destabilising its operations in the state.
Sani further disclosed that coalition leaders had resolved to take disciplinary action against expelled members who filed a lawsuit against a national leader of the party, describing the move as an unnecessary distraction that had hindered the ADC’s growth.
