Former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose held a private meeting with former president Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Sunday.
Fayose arrived at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library and was received by the former president’s aides before heading to Obasanjo’s residence for a closed-door session. The discussion reportedly lasted more than an hour, and no details were made public.
Sources familiar with the visit described it as “a private visit,” though the meeting has fueled political speculation. Fayose, who has recently urged greater unity among southern political figures, has been vocal about the need for cooperation ahead of expected political shifts.
The visit comes as conversations around national reconciliation and the future direction of the Peoples Democratic Party continue to gather pace.
