The National Executive Council NEC of the Labour Party faction led by Julius Abure has reaffirmed the national officers elected during the partys 2024 national convention held in Nnewi Anambra State.
This confirmation followed a NEC meeting convened on Friday at the partys national secretariat in Utako Abuja.
The development was disclosed in a statement jointly signed by the factional National Chairman Julius Abure and the factional National Secretary Umar Farouk Ibrahim.
According to the statement the meeting was attended by members of the National Working Committee state chairmen and secretaries key stakeholders co opted NEC members in accordance with Article 13A of the party constitution as well as officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC.
In its resolutions NEC reviewed issues surrounding the 2024 national convention including ongoing litigations and INECs stance on the exercise.
The reaffirmed officers include the national treasurer publicity secretary legal adviser financial secretary organising secretary women leader and youth leader.
NEC also authorised the national chairman and national secretary to convene a special convention whenever necessary.
Furthermore the council ratified arrangements for the conduct of ward local government and state congresses nationwide.
