Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, was on Thursday rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Yenagoa after reportedly collapsing in his office.
Security personnel immediately secured the hospital premises, while several top government officials arrived to show concern over the development.
Efforts to reach the deputy governor’s media aide, Doubara Atasi, were unsuccessful as of press time.
A member of the hospital’s management, however, disclosed that Ewhrudjakpo is receiving the best possible medical attention and is currently stable.
The Bayelsa State Government has yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
