The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has met with the Rivers State chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Those present at the meeting were the PDP state chairman, Chukwuemeka Aaron, and the APC state chairman, Chief Tony Okocha.
According to a Facebook post by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, the meeting took place on Monday morning.
The development comes days after the Tanimu Turaki-led leadership of the PDP in Rivers State collapsed its structure into the Aaron Chukwuemeka-led faction, pledging loyalty to Wike.
The realignment was announced on Friday during Wike’s visit to Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of the state.
Wike has been touring all 23 local government areas in Rivers State as part of efforts to regain control of the state’s political structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
