Supporters of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Wednesday night stormed the streets of Port Harcourt, chanting political songs in a show of solidarity with the governor.
In a viral video circulating online, the supporters were heard declaring that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, is not God.
The protesters, chanting in pidgin English, urged Wike to focus on his responsibilities as a minister, insisting that Fubara remains the duly elected governor of Rivers State.
“Wike oh, na Minister you be oh, na Fubara be governor. Wike you no be God,” they chanted.
The street protest comes amid renewed hostilities and rising political tension between the FCT Minister and his successor, Governor Fubara, over control and influence in the state.
