The Rivers State Police Command has invited a former Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo, for questioning over an alleged plot to assassinate the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Danagogo was invited following a leaked phone conversation reportedly linked to an ongoing police investigation involving an already arrested suspect.
Although the police invitation letter did not state the specific reason for the summons, a security source said it was connected to a recorded phone conversation allegedly discussing plans to harm the minister.
According to the source, Danagogo was heard in a conversation with a Port Harcourt–based pastor, Tombari Joseph Gbeneol, allegedly discussing a plot to bring in Israeli nationals to carry out the assassination.

“The leaked phone conversation is already with the police, and Danagogo has been invited for questioning in relation to it,” the source said.
When contacted, the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringo Koko, said she would verify the development and respond accordingly.
The police had earlier arrested Pastor Gbeneol over the alleged assassination plot. Investigators reportedly intercepted a phone call between him and Danagogo, during which the two allegedly discussed logistics for the planned attack.
The intercepted conversation was also said to have included discussions about sourcing funds, allegedly suggesting that financial support could be sought from the Rivers State Government.
Investigations are ongoing, according to PUO Reports.
