President Bola Tinubu has arrived in the United Arab Emirates ahead of the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week summit.

The President arrived at about 11:00 p.m. local time and was received by the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs.

His Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said the President is attending the summit at the invitation of the UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

According to Onanuga, the annual global forum brings together leaders from government and the business community to deliberate on issues of sustainable development.

This year’s summit is themed “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go.”

President Tinubu had departed Nigeria on December 28 as part of what the Presidency described as an end of year break in Europe. During the trip, he was also seen in France where he held a meeting with the President of Rwanda.

The President is expected to return to Nigeria after the week long summit, according to PUO Reports.
