PDP restructures leadership in five states

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the appointment of caretaker committees to oversee party affairs in Delta, Enugu, Imo, Rivers and Osun States.

The appointments were approved by the National Working Committee (NWC), acting on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC), in accordance with Section 29(2)(b) of the PDP Constitution (2025, as amended).

The announcement was contained in a statement signed on Thursday by the party’s National Organizing Secretary, Theophilus Dakas Shan.

According to the party, the caretaker committees will manage party affairs in their respective states for a period not exceeding 90 days, or until new state executive committees are elected.

The PDP said the committees are expected to operate strictly in line with the party constitution, the Electoral Act 2022, and the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
