Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with leaders of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, across all levels to strengthen the party and build a formidable opposition force in Bauchi State.
Atiku disclosed this after receiving a delegation of key ADC stakeholders from Bauchi, led by Alhaji Aminu Ahmed Yapeco, Sarkin Yakin Katagum, who spoke to journalists on behalf of the delegation after the meeting.
He said the engagement provided an opportunity to assess the state of the party in Bauchi and identify areas that require improvement.
According to Atiku, discussions centred on reviewing weaknesses within the party’s structure and proposing practical measures to enhance unity, effectiveness, and overall performance.
He described the meeting as part of a broader strategy to reposition the ADC as a credible alternative capable of advancing the aspirations of the people of Bauchi State.
“At this meeting, we carefully reviewed existing shortcomings, and I am fully committed to working hand in hand with party leaders at every level to build a strong, responsive, and effective opposition that truly represents the interests of Bauchi citizens,” Atiku said.
The visit reflects ongoing consultations among opposition leaders as political parties intensify grassroots engagement and consolidate their structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
