Three years after the conclusion of the 2023 general elections, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, has continued actions that many observers say are distracting Hon. Amobi Ogah, the Member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Despite the passage of time, the political and legal issues arising from the election have not been laid to rest. The court case filed by Hon. Onyejeocha against Hon. Ogah was again scheduled for hearing today at the Federal High Court in Abuja, further prolonging a matter that many believe should have been conclusively resolved.

The continued litigation has generated concern among constituents, party stakeholders, and political watchers, who argue that the persistent legal engagements place unnecessary pressure on the lawmaker and divert his attention from legislative duties and constituency-focused governance. According to them, the people of Isuikwuato and Umunneochi deserve uninterrupted representation at the National Assembly.

Supporters of Hon. Ogah note that since assuming office, he has been actively involved in lawmaking, oversight functions, and constituency engagements. They argue that ongoing court actions, years after the elections, risk undermining the stability required for effective representation.

Many residents of the constituency are now questioning why Hon. Onyejeocha has refused to move on, insisting that governance and service delivery should take precedence over prolonged political battles. Calls are growing for all parties to respect the will of the electorate and allow the lawmaker to concentrate fully on his mandate.
