Former Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Political Matters, Hakeem Baba Ahmed, has said the African Democratic Congress ADC will “bleed” after its national convention.

Baba Ahmed made the statement on Tuesday while fielding questions in an interview on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television.

He was speaking on the state of politics in the country.

According to him, Vice President Atiku Abubakar will secure the party’s presidential ticket, and once that happens, some members will leave the party.

He said, “ADC will bleed after its convention because Vice President Atiku will get the ticket, and when he does, some people will walk out.”

It will be recalled that the opposition adopted the ADC in July 2025 ahead of the forthcoming 2027 general elections.

The ADC has attracted prominent political figures including Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar, Rotimi Amaechi, Nasir El Rufai, Babachir Lawal and several others.

The party is currently led by former Senate President David Mark as National Chairman, former Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary, and former Minister of Sports Bolaji Abdullahi as National Publicity Secretary.
