PUO Reports Retitle: Osimhen Braces for Tough Haaland Clash as Galatasaray Face Man City

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has admitted that his side’s upcoming UEFA Champions League clash with Manchester City will be a very difficult test.

The Nigerian forward is set to go head-to-head with Erling Haaland as both strikers lead their teams in a crucial battle for a place in the Champions League round of sixteen.

Osimhen spoke after Galatasaray’s 1–1 draw with Atlético Madrid on Wednesday night, a result that keeps the Turkish champions in a strong position to finish inside the top 24 and qualify for the next round, depending on other results.

Reflecting on his return to action after representing Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Osimhen expressed his joy at being back with his club.

“I really missed everyone, especially the fans, a lot. We knew before the game that we would face a tough team,” he told Galatasaray’s official website.

He praised his teammates’ performance against Atlético Madrid, saying:

“I want to praise my teammates for their effort during the entire 90 minutes; we played well against a strong team.

“The match was 50-50. We had opportunities to end the game in certain moments. I’m satisfied with how we played.”

Looking ahead to the Manchester City encounter, Osimhen acknowledged the quality of Pep Guardiola’s side but remained optimistic about Galatasaray’s chances.

“Manchester City is among the best teams in the world. We’ll focus on each game individually. We’ll start by focusing on the league, and then we’ll look at that game.

“It won’t be easy, but I believe in my team. I’m looking at it positively. We can get something out of it. The most important thing is to play a good game, just like we did against Atlético.”

With Galatasaray still well placed in the standings, Osimhen’s confidence and form could prove vital as they prepare for one of their toughest fixtures of the season against City and Haaland.
