Former Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has said that the only factor capable of preventing Arsenal from winning the Premier League title this season is the club itself.

Oliseh made the remark during an interview on Sunday Oliseh’s Global Football Insights, where he questioned Arsenal’s belief level despite their strong position on the league table.

Arsenal currently sit top of the Premier League standings with 53 points from 24 matches, holding a six-point lead over second-placed Manchester City.

According to the former Juventus midfielder, Mikel Arteta’s side still lack complete confidence in their ability to go all the way.

“The only thing that will stop Arsenal from winning the title is this year’s Arsenal,” Oliseh said.

He also described Manchester City’s current form as one of the weakest he has seen in years, expressing surprise that Pep Guardiola’s side are still second on the table.

“This is one of the worst Manchester City teams I have seen in years, and the surprising thing is that they are still in second place. This league should have been over if it were not the Premier League,” he said.

Oliseh added that Arsenal should be far ahead by now, insisting that their failure to build a wider points gap is down to lingering self-doubt.

“What is holding Arsenal back? Why are they not ten points ahead? It’s because the 100 per cent belief is still not there,” he concluded.
