Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Monday said Plateau State Governor, Caleb Muftwang, has already secured victory ahead of the 2027 elections following his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Akpabio described Muftwang as the “newest bride” of the APC while speaking at an event in Jos, the Plateau State capital, to formally welcome the governor into the ruling party.
“The governor, the newest bride of the APC family in Nigeria, and the performing governor of Plateau State, my brother Caleb, I have only one word for you.
“Even in the Bible, it says Caleb, we can go up to the mountain and conquer it. I want you to know that this moment means you have conquered the Government House in Plateau State again in 2027,” Akpabio said.
The Senate President added that Muftwang’s entry into the APC showed that the North-Central region was now firmly under the party’s control.
“Congratulations in advance. Your name shows nothing but conquest. Today’s event is very significant. Significantly, today the North-Central region is complete,” he stated.
Akpabio also dismissed claims that the current administration was biased against any religion, insisting that such allegations were unfounded.
