The Executive Director of Fix Politics Initiative, Anthony Ubani, has criticized Nigeria’s current political leadership, alleging that many public office holders prioritize personal enrichment over national development.
Ubani made the remarks on Tuesday during an appearance on Prime Time, a programme on Arise Television.
According to him, some individuals assume public office with little or no personal assets but accumulate significant wealth before leaving their positions.
“It’s not rocket science. The average person on the street can define what the current leadership is right about now.
“You talk about servant leadership. It means you come into power on the basis of serving the people and building the country.
“Those currently in power are serving their pockets, not Nigeria. They are far too gone with corruption.
“They came into power without anything, some not even a bicycle, but by the time they leave office, they already have stored wealth for themselves,” he said.
