The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, University of Lagos, UNILAG chapter, has announced the commencement of an indefinite strike.

The union attributed the industrial action to what it described as “amputated” salaries paid to its members by the university management for January and February 2026.

This was contained in a communique issued at the end of an emergency meeting held on Tuesday.

The communique was jointly signed by the union’s Chairperson, Idou Kehinde, and Secretary, Adesina Arikawe.

According to the union, the indefinite strike will begin on Wednesday and will continue until the university management addresses its demands.

Further details are expected to emerge as the situation develops.
