Orji Uzor Kalu, the Senator representing Abia North in the National Assembly, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) will deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and win all elective positions in Abia State in the 2027 general elections.

Kalu made the statement on Friday while addressing members of the APC and his support groups in his hometown of Igbere.

He said the party is united and determined to take over the Government House in Umuahia along with other elective offices in the state.

The senator expressed support for the recently concluded APC State Congress in Abia, noting that the party would rely on the unity achieved during the exercise to secure victory in future elections.

Kalu urged party members to work towards the party’s success and warned that acts of sabotage similar to those experienced during the 2023 elections must not be repeated.

He also stated that electoral manipulation or rigging would not be tolerated in the state. While referring to the November 2, 2024 local government election in Abia, which was won by the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Kalu alleged that the process was neither credible nor fair.

“When the local government election was conducted in Abia State, one man entered his bedroom and wrote election, saying it was won by the Zenith party. That would not happen in 2027,” he said.

Kalu further advised Governor Alex Otti to stop operating from his private residence in Isiala Ngwa. According to him, the governor’s continued absence from the Government House in Umuahia is negatively affecting economic activities in the state capital.

The former governor also dismissed claims that his administration achieved little during his time in office, describing such accusations as propaganda by the current administration.
