Dangote Petroleum Refinery has increased the price of petrol to ₦1,175 per litre, prompting depot operators across several locations to temporarily halt sales.
The refinery had earlier reduced the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) by ₦100 to ₦1,075 per litre on March 10, 2026, down from the previous ₦1,175 per litre.
Following the earlier reduction, depot operators had begun selling the product at an average price of about ₦1,100 per litre before the latest increase was announced.
In response to the price adjustment, many depot operators immediately paused sales transactions.
The refinery also temporarily suspended loading operations to reconcile stock levels and adjust to the new pricing structure.
The price revision is linked to the recent rise in global crude oil prices, with Brent crude increasing from about $91 to $100 per barrel, a development that directly affects refining costs.
