A political pressure group, Isiala Ngwa South Progressive Movement, has appealed to Engr. Patrick Chibuzo Esihe to contest the 2027 election for the Isiala Ngwa South State Constituency seat in the Abia State House of Assembly.

The appeal was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the group’s inaugural meeting held on March 9, 2026, at the country home of Hon. Chimereze Joseph Nwankwo.

According to the communiqué, the meeting deliberated extensively on the political future of Isiala Ngwa South ahead of the 2027 general elections, with particular emphasis on ensuring effective and quality representation of the constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly.

The group commended Engr. Chibuzo Patrick Esihe, an indigene of Ovungwo Ward 8 and member of the OV-OV political bloc, describing him as a philanthropist who has distinguished himself in community development and humanitarian services.

Members of the Movement noted that through the Chibuzo Esihe Foundation, the engineer has contributed significantly to education support, youth empowerment, sports development, and economic empowerment initiatives that have positively impacted many lives across the area.

After extensive deliberations, the group adopted several resolutions.

First, the Movement declared its support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 gubernatorial, senatorial, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly elections.

Secondly, the group reaffirmed that the OV-OV political bloc should complete its eight-year rotational turn in the Abia State House of Assembly in line with existing political arrangements among blocs in Isiala Ngwa South.

The Movement also made what it described as a passionate appeal to Engr. Esihe, founder of the Chibuzo Esihe Foundation, to heed the call of his people and contest the Isiala Ngwa South State Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections.

According to the group, Engr. Esihe remains eminently qualified and represents a credible voice capable of improving the quality of representation of the constituency.

The Progressives further reiterated their commitment to ushering in what they described as a new political dawn in Isiala Ngwa South, stressing that electing a candidate from the OV-OV bloc would strengthen political balance and enhance development in the constituency.

The communiqué was jointly signed by Chief Gabriel Ejikoma and Elder Eze Gabriel (OV-OV Political Bloc); Chintua Chukwudi and Chief Dominic Nwankwo (Mbutu Political Bloc); Comrade Ekene Gaius (Nvosi Political Bloc); and Comrade Nnaedozie Agbaharaiwe (Amobi Political Bloc)
