A lawyer and politician, Kenneth Okonkwo, has called on Nigerians to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC), saying the party provides a platform to address the country’s challenges.
Okonkwo said he aligned with the party because of its constitutional commitment to the welfare of Nigerians.
In a video shared on his X page, the veteran Nollywood actor said he joined the party because it prioritises the well-being of the nation and its citizens.
“I joined this great party because the constitution of our great party says we are in pursuit of the welfare of the nation and our people,” he said.
The former spokesperson for the presidential campaign of the Labour Party Nigeria stated that the country has suffered greatly due to insecurity and poor governance, adding that the ADC aims to provide solutions to these issues.
“This country has suffered so much because of the lack of security of its citizens and the ADC has come to the rescue of Nigerians,” he said.
Okonkwo explained that his decision to join the party is part of a broader effort to help reposition the country and encouraged Nigerians to support the movement.
“I joined ADC as part of the rescue team and I’m urging all Nigerians to join ADC so that we will save our country from imminent collapse,” he added.
He also warned that the country may struggle to endure another four years of current challenges such as rising fuel costs, insecurity and corruption.
“We will not be able to endure four more years of unavailability and high cost of fuel, insecurity, corruption, incompetence. We are now a laughing stock around the whole nation,” he said.
Okonkwo further criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), arguing that the country may not withstand another term under its leadership.
“ADC for the rescue, we may not survive another four years of the incompetence and corruption of the APC,” he said.
