2027: Abia Traditional Rulers Endorse Governor Alex Otti For a Second Term In Office

Members of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers have unanimously endorsed Governor Alex Otti for a second term in office, come 2027.

The Chairman, Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Dr Linus Nto Mbah disclosed this in an interview with news men, after a closed door meeting of a delegation of the council members held with the Governor on Tuesday, at Nvosi Isialangwa South LGA of the state.

He said that in less than 3 years in office, Governor Otti has performed creditably in various sectors of the economy and maintained that he has redefined governance in Abia state.

Eze Mbah assured the Governor that since his predecessors, both those that did well and those that did not do well, all had 8 years term in office, himself would equally complete his 8 years term in office, especially, as he has done exceptionally well.

“We want to encourage him, come 2027 , all traditional rulers are behind him.

“Other governors did 8 years each, whether they did well or not, why should it be his own that people would come to say that he should take four years and leave.

“Abia State Traditional Rulers Council says no, it will never happen. We will support Him. We will give him 100 percent support. We will make sure in 2027 , Dr Alex Otti, Chioma Ndị Abia will be reelected,” Eze Mbah stated.

Eze Nto Mbah said that the visit was to formally thank the Governor for his good works in the state and to encourage him to do more for the people.

The monarch, who cited the monumental projects done by
the focused administration of Governor Alex Otti under the New Abia described the projects as laudable.

“You would see roads , so many roads. We have decided to come and say, “Governor, thank you, we have seen what you are doing, keep it up.

“Abia State traditional rulers are very very happy. We are very grateful to him,” Eze Mbah stated.

He added that it is based on what the Governor has done, which is beyond measure, that the traditional rulers resolved to endorse him for a second term in office.

The Royal Father further commended Governor Alex Otti for prioritising security of lives and property across the state, and noted that the traditional institution in Abia state is proud of the Governor and his sterling achievements.

The 1st Deputy Chairman, Abia Traditional Rulers , HRM Eze Nelson Nmerengwa , the 2nd Deputy Chairman, HRM Eze Franklyn Nwosu and the 3rd Deputy Chairman,
HRM Eze Uwakwe Ukaegbu among many other revered traditional rulers were present at the meeting.
